Clearwater Beach tides today
Clearwater Beach has its own primary gauge on the Gulf side of the barrier island, the station NOAA uses for the harbor and the sounds north of it.
Shaded: night. Green bands: solunar periods (thick = major, thin = minor). Heights in feet above Mean Lower Low Water, the zero of NOAA charts.

A falling tide uncovers sand bars and tide pools first; plan to be back before the water rises past the level you chose. Not for navigation.
Station Clearwater Beach (NOAA 8726724). Predicted astronomical tide: wind, river flow and storms can move the real water by a foot or more. 2.7 ft is the average daily range here.
Published by Radif Partners · How the tides are computed · predictions downloaded October 13, 2026
Tide times for Clearwater Beach come from the National Ocean Service prediction for station 8726724, Clearwater Beach. The tide here is mixed: two highs and two lows most days, but of unequal size, the two highs of a day differing by 0.8 ft on average, for an average daily range of 2.7 ft between the higher high and the lower low. Around the new and full moon the range grows to about 3.7 ft on one day in ten, and at the quarter moons it shrinks to 1.7 ft. Heights are in feet above Mean Lower Low Water, the zero of nautical charts, so a negative number is water below that zero: 214 of the 457 days from October 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027 have one, down to -1.3 ft on January 21, 2027. The highest predicted tide of that period is 3.7 ft on August 2, 2027. Clock times are Eastern Time, daylight saving time included.
Gulf sand in front, Clearwater Harbor behind
2.7 ft of daily range on the Gulf face of Clearwater Beach is generous for Florida's west coast, and the beach is wide and gently sloped, so an ordinary falling tide uncovers a long band of firm sand. Behind the island, across the Memorial Causeway, Clearwater Harbor lags. NOAA predicts the Clearwater waterfront from this beach station with high water 28 minutes later and low water 50 minutes later, low-water heights scaled to three quarters. The harbor's shallow edges drain less completely than the open shore.
St. Joseph Sound and Honeymoon Island
To the north the barrier chain continues to Caladesi and Honeymoon islands, with St. Joseph Sound between them and the mainland. The sound behaves almost like the beach in height but trails in time. Dunedin is computed 26 minutes behind Clearwater Beach at high water, Honeymoon Island 28 minutes behind with heights 8 percent greater, and Ozona, farther up the sound, only 8 minutes behind. Kayakers crossing to the islands from Dunedin can read this page and add about half an hour.
South to Indian Rocks: inside or outside
NOAA lists two stations at Indian Rocks Beach, and they make a useful lesson. The coastal one, on the Gulf, turns 17 minutes ahead of Clearwater Beach. The inside one, on the Narrows behind the island, turns 79 minutes after it, with a smaller fall at low water. Same town, more than an hour and a half apart. If a ramp or dock sits on the intracoastal side, it belongs to the inside station.
The winter months bring the deepest predicted low of the period, -1.3 ft on January 21, 2027, and a north wind behind a front can drain the flats further. The negative low tide guide covers what that exposes.
Highest and lowest tides at Clearwater Beach, 2026 to 2027
The six highest highs and six lowest lows predicted for Clearwater Beach between October 1, 2026 and December 31, 2027, one per day. The high-water dates are the king tides of this station; the low-water dates are the best days to see the flats, bars and tide pools.
