Key West tides today
The Key West gauge, at the far end of the Overseas Highway, is the reference tide station for the lower Keys, where the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico meet.
Shaded: night. Green bands: solunar periods (thick = major, thin = minor). Heights in feet above Mean Lower Low Water, the zero of NOAA charts.

A falling tide uncovers sand bars and tide pools first; plan to be back before the water rises past the level you chose. Not for navigation.
Station KEY WEST (NOAA 8724580). Predicted astronomical tide: wind, river flow and storms can move the real water by a foot or more. 1.8 ft is the average daily range here.
Published by Radif Partners · How the tides are computed · predictions downloaded October 13, 2026
Tide times for Key West come from the National Ocean Service prediction for station 8724580, KEY WEST. The tide here is mixed: two highs and two lows most days, but of unequal size, the two highs of a day differing by 0.6 ft on average, for an average daily range of 1.8 ft between the higher high and the lower low. Around the new and full moon the range grows to about 2.4 ft on one day in ten, and at the quarter moons it shrinks to 1.2 ft. Heights are in feet above Mean Lower Low Water, the zero of nautical charts, so a negative number is water below that zero: 201 of the 457 days from October 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027 have one, down to -0.7 ft on January 21, 2027. The highest predicted tide of that period is 2.5 ft on October 28, 2026. Clock times are Eastern Time, daylight saving time included.
An island with two shores and two clocks
1.8 ft is the average daily swing at the Key West station, and the two highs of a day rarely match: the taller one beats the other by 0.6 ft on average. Key West has kept a tide record for more than a century, which is why the Keys are predicted from it. The island is small, yet its shores do not turn together. On the Atlantic side, NOAA predicts the White Street Pier from the Key West station with high water 53 minutes sooner and heights about 7 percent greater, so the south-facing beaches crest first.
The north side behaves differently. Garrison Bight and the Sigsbee Park channel sit behind the island, and NOAA gives Sigsbee Park a high almost two hours after the reference, at roughly four fifths of its height. A morning that looks like slack water at the harbor may still be filling in the bight.
Channels toward Stock Island and Boca Chica
East of town, the water squeezes through the gaps between the keys. Cow Key Channel peaks 115 minutes after Key West, the Key Haven to Stock Island channel 145 minutes after, and the Boca Chica Channel Bridge 83 minutes after, each with a range cut to between a half and three quarters of the reference. Those cuts drain shallow flats on both sides, so the delay grows the farther a spot sits from open water. Anyone poling a flat or wading out from the shoreline should take the correction for the nearest channel, not the harbor figure shown at the top of this page.
Wind also has a say here. A steady breeze from one quarter for several days can hold water on the flats or push it off them, and the prediction does not know about it. The tide range guide explains why a small ocean range shrinks again inside a maze of keys.
Highest and lowest tides at Key West, 2026 to 2027
The six highest highs and six lowest lows predicted for KEY WEST between October 1, 2026 and December 31, 2027, one per day. The high-water dates are the king tides of this station; the low-water dates are the best days to see the flats, bars and tide pools.
